New Year’s Resolutions
Happy New Year’s everyone!! I hope your day is filled with friends and family and good times. I’m going to be the sterotypical blogger and post my New Year’s resolutions. Now, I’ve never really set resolutions for myself before, partially because I think that if you want to change something about yourself or the way you live, why not start now. I’ve felt really inspired over the past couple of weeks to have some New Year’s resolutions.
I’m the kind of person that when I set a goal for myself, I feel guilty if I don’t achieve it. For this year, my resolutions revolve around me living a healthier lifestyle (isn’t that everyone’s?) and managing my time better.
This semester (fall 2015) I made it my goal to go to the gym quite often and stay in shape. Well, somehow I still managed to gain weight. College will do that, haha. But, I did manage to achieve that goal! Here are my resolutions/goals for 2o16:
I really want to produce two quality blog posts a week. Over the past few months, I’ve been posting at least three times a week, and I’ve definitely seen an increase in traffic and an improvement in the quality of my writing. I set out to achieve both of those when I started blogging! But, sometimes I feel that with my three post a week schedule, I’m not always producing the high quality content that I want to publish. Plus, next semester is going to be killer when it comes to the course-load. So, two posts a week should be good for me, my mental sanity, and the blog!
Another thing that I really want to accomplish is to say yes to more opportunities. I’m one to turn down invitations to hang out or go do something because I’m nervous about what is going to happen. I’m not good with dealing with the unexpected, but I really want to venture out and do more things. Something that goes right along with this is leaving my dorm room. This semester I stayed in my room for a majority of my free time because I was constantly doing homework or working on the blog. I really think that by establishing a quality friend group, I will be much happier during my time at USC. I also really want to travel more. This kind of goes along with saying yes to more opportunities. I love traveling and since I’m in college, I really do have inexpensive travel opportunities at my fingertips.
And here goes the cliche be more healthy resolution. But in all seriousness, I really want to eat better, drink more water, and go to the gym more. When I was going to the gym three to four times a week back in September/October, I was feeling great about myself! I had so much energy and I just felt better. The freshman 15 is a real thing, and I don’t like it at all. I think part of my freshman 15 is muscle because back in high school, I did absolutely no physical activity what so ever. But, I still want to be back down around my normal weight. Through changing my meal plan to only 10 meals a week, I will be able to cook a lot of my own food and therefore, be eating healthier! Another goal related to fitness and health is for me to be able to run five miles by the end of 2016. I despise running. It’s so boring and not fun. But, I really want to be able to run five miles by the end of the year.
I am really going to try and accomplish a majority of these resolutions/goals. If you have any New Year’s resolutions, make sure to let me know! We all have to be accountable for each other!
