You might’ve noticed I’ve been a little absent from the fitness sphere since my last Project Comeback installment…
Well here’s the truth. I may have pushed a little too hard when I went back to the gym in November, and I paid the price for that. I got pretty sick the second week of December. It wasn’t the flu or anything super serious, but I was just feeling awful and had a stuffy nose and basically, it was a really bad cold.
I decided it’d be best to just take some more time off of the gym, truly let myself recover, and let go of the fear of losing all my progress by taking some additional time off.
What is it with this year just flying by? Thanksgiving’s over, it’s full-on holiday season, and before I know it, school will be back in session in January. Yesterday was December 1st, and that means I’m fully in the holiday spirit (hello Christmas music, sweaters, pretty lights, and Christmas crafting) and Vlogmas has started! Since yesterday was the first official day of Vlogmas, make sure to check out the video at the end of this post or head over to my YouTube channel!
If you’re looking for people to follow for Vlogmas and Blogmas, make sure to check out my latest post for a list of some of my favorites! Moving right along into this monthly recap, I’m going to be skipping favorites for this past month partially because I ran out of time to take photos and partially because I didn’t keep track of what I’ve been loving the past month… oops! So, I hope you’ll be okay with a life update and a look at my stats for the month. KEEP READING “November Recap”
Happy November! Like I say every month, I can’t believe October flew by as fast as it did. It was full of emotional ups and downs, travels across the USA, and good times with friends and family. I let the blog slip a bit last month, but I have so much amazing content planned for November. Plus, the holiday season is almost in full swing!
October, what a month. It started out just like any other month – classes going alright, busy with RM stuff, and hanging out with friends. But then, the world decided to take October in a whole different direction. In the first full week of October, Hurricane Matthew decided to strike and we were out of school for three days. Luckily Columbia was not hit hard at all and we were able to resume life as normal. Strangely enough, the hurricane hit almost a full year after the devastating flood in 2015. The following week was fall break which was much needed, but so much unnecessary drama occurred that it almost didn’t seem like a break. I was able to go home, hang out with family, and go shopping for my exciting week in Houston. KEEP READING “October Recap”
I swear, August has been the longest month of my life. From moving back to college, two weeks of residence life training, and school starting, I honestly feel like it should be mid-October by this point. This a big statement, but August has been the best month of 2016 thus far. I love being back at school, going to class, and hanging out with all of my new RM friends.
This month was literally INSANE when it comes to stats and all of that. We’re talking triple the number of views from last month, and my social medias are still growing at a consistent rate. I’ve really been able to focus on blogging a lot more this month, and I cannot wait for September and fall and all the holiday posts that will be coming your way in the next few months.
I think the most shocking thing in realizing that July is over is that Christmas is less than five months away… Umm wasn’t it just the holiday season like last week? This month has flown by once again, and I just can’t wrap my head around how fast this year is going by! I’m continuing with my recap-style monthly roundup posts because you all really seemed to enjoy the last one!
July was full of birthdays, sweat-filled workout sessions, sparklers, and way too many desserts. In case you missed my last monthly recap, I’ve changed my layout a bit! Instead of just covering my monthly favorites, I talk about my life over the past month, five of my monthly favorites, and my stats for the month. And let me just tell you that the stats portion of this month’s recap is INSANE…
Very recently I made a major decision to chop off 5+ inches of hair. I’ve never had my curly hair short before and I was in desperate need of a change. The ends were dry and brittle and my hair had lost its overall shine. Chopping off my hair was the best decision I’ve ever made, and it’s kept it super healthy. Today, I wanted to share the products I use on a daily basis to keep my curls bouncy and almost frizz-free!
Welcome to the struggle bus known as trying to maintain a mane of curly hair. Curly hair is very moody and does whatever the heck it wants no matter the day, important event, or special moment. It’s taken me 19 years to finally figure out what works for my hair, and as a fellow curly-haired girl, I find the need to share the products and techniques that work for me to maintain the frizz. All of these products can be found at your local Target and Sally Beauty because this girl doesn’t have the budget for high-end hair products. I’ve stuck with these products for the past several years and they’ve never let me down!
