Alright today I’m taking a big step towards incorporating fitness into this blog. Today I’m bringing to you my tried and true leg workout! Ahhh I KNOW! Now, I am not a personal trainer or any certified form of fitness instructor. I’m just a girl who’s figured out what works for her, and that’s why I’m sharing it with you! I was debating whether or not to post this, so I hit up my blogging BFF and fellow fitness lover Caitlyn from over at College With Caitlyn and she was all for it.
For me, I want my leg workouts to be hard. I want my legs to burn, I want my heart rate to soar, and I want my butt to shake when I lean over to brush my teeth that night. Trust me, that last one is true, and it’s real haha. This leg workout can easily be adapted for beginners who maybe don’t have the stamina for a full on hour death session or are a little uncertain about what to do when at the gym.

Happy New Year! I can’t believe winter break is over and done with, and classes have started back up. This semester I’m taking it a little easier, and making my health a main priority. With only two computing in my course load this semester, I have a lot more time to fit in going to the gym. With it being the start of the new year, I’m sure a lot of you are working on making your health a priority.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!! I hope you’re having an amazing day full of family, friends, and amazing food! In case you didn’t know, Cathleen from Classy Cathleen and I put together a Blogger Secret Santa this year, and I’m proud to say that we had over 25 people participate. It was such a success and I’m so excited to reveal to you who my Secret Santa was and see everyone else’s Secret Santa reveals!
This year’s Blogger Secret Santa came about because I begged Cathleen to host another one after I had so much fun participating in last year’s. She graciously allowed me to help her host the 2016 edition of the Blogger Secret Santa, and I can honestly say that I had a blast organizing all of it. After about a week of working on countless Google Docs and Google Sheets, we finally launched, and I was so excited to see so many amazing bloggers wanting to participate. Just like last year, all of the participants reveal their Secret Santa on Christmas Day (aka today) at 10 AM EST. I’m going to try my best to include links to everyone’s Secret Santa reveal posts at the end of this post, so definitely make sure you check out their reveals! KEEP READING “And My Secret Santa Is…”
Today I’m going to get a little more personal than I usually do in my posts. I am talking about fitness, my struggles and triumphs with fitness, and how it’s changed my outlook on life. I feel that sometimes, especially with girls, we think that we have to have this perfect body, that we can’t gain weight, and that if you don’t fit a specific stereotype, it’s not okay. Today I want to share how none of that is true and that all that really matters is your own happiness, whether that be from working out or sitting on the couch devouring a bag of chips (because tbh, both of those things make me very happy).
The world paints a really distorted view of being healthy or being in shape. Society highlights all of these teeny tiny models with itty bitty waists and that’s our view of healthy. Now, I’m not saying that these models aren’t healthy. KEEP READING “My Fitness Journey”
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not some salad-loving, exercise junkie. I’m a college student. I love a nice bowl of ramen at midnight or a spontaneous large milkshake from Marble Slab. I’ve tried so hard to avoid gaining that notorious Freshman 15, and I’ve really only gained about 8ish pounds. I attribute some of that to muscle. Walking 20,000+ steps a day will do wonders to your legs . But, after spending my first semester bingeing on ramen and candy and chips, I’ve learned to change my ways.
Let me just start out by saying that claiming you want to “be healthy” is a lot harder than it seems. Being healthy is a lifestyle change. It doesn’t happen overnight or in a week or even in a month. It takes 21 days to break a habit, and an unhealthy lifestyle is a habit. KEEP READING “Staying Healthy in College”
This past year, I’ve really been getting into exercising and staying healthy. I really started becoming serious back in July after I gained like 8 pounds after three weeks at governor’s school. I wanted to lose that weight and also just be more healthy. I have to listen to some form of music or podcast or something while I work out. I cannot work out in complete silence. Silence is not motivating or fun. KEEP READING “Workout Playlist”
