First Day of College Classes

First Day of College Classes University of South Carolina

I can’t believe I’ve been living on campus for almost a full week! I’ve done so many different things and met so many amazing people. Today I wanted to share my first day of class experience with you! I did one of these posts for my college move-in. I love these posts because it details the day and gives a glimpse into what actually goes on.

Alright, I’m going to detail my first two days of classes since each day had different classes!

THURSDAY

I had gone almost all summer thinking that my class on Tuesday and Thursday started at 8:30. Not quite as bad as 8 AM, but still, I have to get up early. Well, the night before I discovered that the class was at 8 AM. It was an awful discovery. That meant I had to get up at 6:15 or 6:30 in order to leave my building by 7:20. Death. That’s basically death.

I woke up bright and early Thursday morning at 6:30. I got dressed, did my hair, and put on a little bit of makeup to keep me from scaring the rest of the world. I gathered my stuff and headed out the door. I was actually really nervous and excited. I mean this was my first class in college. I went down the elevator and headed out the doors. About 500 feet from the doors of my dorm, my phone buzzes. Class is canceled. Are you kidding me? I woke up early just to have class canceled? I mean that’s nice because I don’t have to walk over a mile to get to class, but I also could have slept in until like 10.

I waste enough time and 11:15 rolls around. I had English at 11:40 and wanted to get there a tad early. Need to make good impressions. My walk from my dorm to my English building is only about a 5 minute walk when the elevators decide to cooperate. English was actually really cool! It’s going to mainly be a writing class which is good. I actually enjoy writing a whole lot more than analyzing texts to find the hidden meanings of things.

My final class of the day was at 2:50. It’s a University 101 class which is basically like an extended orientation. It makes the transition from high school to college much smoother. I love my professor and his assistant. They have a great sense of humor. I’m for sure going to look forward to that class!

First day was done. Phew. I survived. Our floor spent the night hanging out and playing cards.

FRIDAY

My first and only Friday class was at 9:40 all the way across campus. Why did I choose to be a computer information systems major? I have to walk 20+ minutes to get to a majority of my classes. This particular class is accounting. Accounting at 9:40 in the morning. What an interesting class. Actually, I’m super excited for that class because we’re talking about taxes and how to fill out tax forms for a majority of the class. That’s important information! My professor seems really awesome and down to earth. I feel like I could easily talk to her if I had any issues.

Well, that was my day. My suite mate and I headed to Target to get some more school supplies and food.

I survived my first day of college! How was your first day? Did anything memorable happen? I love to hear from you all and make sure to let me know if you like these kinds of posts!

Taking some time outside of CrossFit to drill down and focus on my weightlifting technique. Snatches and cleans have always been a little intimidating and I’ve been scared to push myself on them for fear of injury. Looking forward to seeing how my lifts progress over the next few months!

@cattyelizabeth5 and I are back after 3 long months, and we’re so excited to share the first episode of season 5 of Girls Talk! It’s a good one and a pretty great way to spend an hour of your quarantine 💁‍♀️

I was 9 months in to my fitness journey, tracked macros like it was my job, and religiously went to the gym 5-6 days a week. Seeing this pop up in my “Memories” was just what I needed today because being stuck at home because of my susceptibility to lung problems and #covid_19 has left me highly unmotivated to workout...
