Cards for Service
Since being in college, service has become really important to me and the programs that I am a part of. One of requirements for my scholars program is to volunteer and participate in service at some point in the semester. This semester, I wasn’t able to participate in our Service Saturdays(thank you sprained ankle from my spring break trip to Denver), so I now have the opportunity to combine my love of crafting with a service project! In order to fulfill my service requirement, my counselor informed me of a project to create five cards for Cards for Hospitalized Kids.
Cards for Hospitalized Kids is an organization that delivers cards to kids across the nation that are in the hospital. To me, this is a really awesome opportunity for me to combine my love for crafting and creativity to put a smile on someone’s face!
I started browsing Pinterest for DIY card ideas, and I stumbled upon some cute ideas so I decided to recreate them myself! Now keep in mind that all I have for supplies is paper, construction paper, glue, and markers. So no matter what you have, you can make a card!
I really wanted to share this with you all because it honestly take no time to whip up a card, and it’s all for such a great cause! If you want to participate in this organization, you can go to their website, follow the instructions for what to and what not to include, and mail them off! They collect cards all year to distribute, so if you’re really feeling in the Christmas spirit some time in July, you can make a holiday card and they’ll give it out near Christmas!
If you choose to submit something to them, make sure to let me know and send me a picture of the card you created!
