April Favorites
Ummm so how on Earth is April already over?! I feel like in college the days just fly by, and I really don’t know how to feel about it. But, because April is over, that means it’s May and May means summer! I honestly can’t wait to move home for the summer. Oh! And that means my newsletter launch is getting closer and closer! life update
April, wow. April has been a month full of emotional ups and downs, countless tests, and exciting surprises! My parents came to visit and partially move me out this past weekend, and it was so amazing to see them! This is the first time they’ve been down to see me this entire year so I finally got to give them the campus tour and show them around. I also went canoeing last weekend which was an absolute blast! I have two finals in total, one of which was today. I’m so excited to go home for the summer because hello vegetables, seeing my cat all the time, and hanging out with the fam. How was April for you?
caramelized onion chips
OH MY GOSH. Guys, seriously, these are like the healthier alternative to Funyuns. They’re honestly one of the most delicious chips I’ve ever tried, and they’re relatively healthy! Twenty seven crisps, as the packaging likes to call it, are only 120 calories! That’s actually amazing.
I want to thank my amazing friend Lauren for these. But I also don’t want to thank her because now I think I’ve developed an addiction to them…
cacti wallpaper
If you read my last post about 10 things that make me happy, you’ll know how much I love cacti and succulents. They never fail to put a smile on my face so I figured why not add some cacti love to my desktop!
I found this cacti/succulent desktop wallpaper during one of my late-night Pinterest sessions and it seriously gives me life. I love how simple yet fun it is! It’s from The Lovely Drawer, so make sure you go check it out!
self-tanner
If any of you know me in person or have seen pictures of me, you know how ghostly pale I am. I’m not even exaggerating. Sometimes (well, a majority of the time) the lightest shade of foundation is even too dark for me. #palegirlprobs But that’s nothing a tube of self-tanner can’t fix! I opt for self-tanner because I’ve seen first-hand the harmful effects of skin cancer, and I really don’t want that to happen to me. Self-tanner is a way easier and healthier option to tanning beds or sitting outside in the sun.
This is the Banana Boat Deep Dark Color self-tanner, and it’s been my go to for the past two years. It doesn’t turn me orange and it has decent staying power. I will say that the self-tanner smell is kind of strong on this one, but it’s manageable. I deal with it.
creative market
I’ve heard about Creative Market for a while now. I mean most bloggers love it for the amazing font selection! I never actually checked it out until this month, and I am oh so glad I did. I thought that you had to buy everything, and as a college student, I don’t have money lying around to buy fonts and stuff like that. That’s until I found out about their newsletter.
If you sign up for the Creative Market newsletter, you get six free items sent to your inbox each week! They can range from fonts and WordPress blog templates to Photoshop actions and textures. Even if you’re not into Photoshop actions or in need of textures, I highly suggest signing up. You may have noticed I’ve started using a new brush script font. Guess where that came from… the Creative Market newsletter!
What have you been loving this past month? I’d love to know!
