Celebrating My 21st | Coffee & Chit Chat No. 7

Coffee And Chit Chat No 7

I’M FINALLY LEGAL!!

Okay now that my excitement about that is out of the way, I just want to say a big hello because it’s been a hot minute since I’ve written a blog post.

Not gonna lie. I’ve been a bit unmotivated and I’m just generally confused about what I want to do with my life… aren’t we all though? It’s been quite a month, and it’s been quite a long time since I’ve sat down to update you on my life. After all, a lot of things have been happening!

Originally I was going to do a 21st birthday recap post all on its own, but my birthday was last Monday, and I definitely feel like too much time has passed to do a dedicated post on my birthday. Hope you’re okay with the combination of two posts into one!

First and foremost, let me talk about my 21st.

Overall, my 21st was very laid back, relaxing, and uneventful. I didn’t have one of those crazy 21st birthday celebrations (even though I would gladly accept one), and instead, I opted to spend the weekend back home in Tennessee with my family and have a chill night out on the day of my birthday!

The weekend was full of donuts, shopping, hanging out with family, eating delicious barbeque, and going to the DMV to renew my license. My actual 21st was finished off with fried pickles, nachos, free shots, and a chocolate and coffee alcoholic milkshake. YUM!!

…and then the next day I decided to get back on track with my diet LOL

Now on to the actual life updates portion:

  • I got a cat. I got a freaking cat for my birthday. Brad bought me a cat. It is the best thing in my entire life. His name is Tom and he’s adorable and the love of my life. He’s so chill and cuddly and soft and fluffy and sweet and perfect. Ugh y’all I never thought I needed a cat at this stage in my life, but holy moly he has changed me.

  • My parents graciously gifted me the Apple AirPods for my birthday, and y’all they are life-changing. If you’ve been on the fence about getting them, I’m telling you to save up that money and get them. I love how they pair with my iPhone without any issues, the sound quality is great, they don’t fall out, and they’ve made my workouts so much more enjoyable. 10/10 recommend.
  • I’ve been dealing with some health issues as of late, and it’s definitely been taking a toll on my energy, motivation, and general well being. I don’t think I’ve ever disclosed this on the blog, but I have PCOS which if you don’t know what that is, it’s polycystic ovarian syndrome, and it’s fairly common in women. I don’t know if I’m dealing with complications from that or if it’s a whole other issue, but it’s not fun. I’m headed to the doctor this week so hopefully, we can figure out what’s going on and get it all under control. Chances are it’s nothing bad.
  • On a more positive note, my internship is going super well. I have such a flexible work schedule and am able to work from home some days. It’s nice being able to chill at home with my cat all while doing work and not having to change into real pants.
  • With the gym, I’m working on getting my motivation back, and finding new ways to keep fitness exciting. I’m on a mini cut right now. I’m not strictly counting macros or anything, but I’m just being more conscious about what I’m putting into my body. Less junk food, more healthy food.

I have a bunch of cool posts planned for the upcoming months:

  • House Tour Tuesdays are going to become a thing because I’ve worked so hard on getting my place to look just right, and I want to share it with y’all!
  • Back-to-college posts might just make a comeback because this is my last year of being able to do back-to-school style posts… omg…
  • There could quite possibly be a “how to furnish a house under $1000” post coming your way because moving is expensive, and buying furniture is even more expensive.
  • Thanks to a recommendation from Jessica, I’ve got a post planned all about getting a cat for the first time!

Do you like these post ideas??? Sound off in the comments below if there’s other stuff you want to see.

Hmm… okay I think that’s about it for my coffee & chit chat update for this time around. I’m excited to be back on my blogging game, and I’m so ready for y’all to get a look at all of the fun things I have planned in the next few months. If everything goes as planned, it’s going to be epic.

What’s been going on in your life? How’d you celebrate the 4th of July? Can you believe that it’s almost time for school to start back up?? I can’t…

Taking some time outside of CrossFit to drill down and focus on my weightlifting technique. Snatches and cleans have always been a little intimidating and I’ve been scared to push myself on them for fear of injury. Looking forward to seeing how my lifts progress over the next few months!

Oh, and mental health is doing fantastically, too!

@cattyelizabeth5 and I are back after 3 long months, and we’re so excited to share the first episode of season 5 of Girls Talk! It’s a good one and a pretty great way to spend an hour of your quarantine 💁‍♀️
These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestl These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestly it feels like yesterday. I was 9 months in to my fitness journey, tracked macros like it was my job, and religiously went to the gym 5-6 days a week. Seeing this pop up in my “Memories” was just what I needed today because being stuck at home because of my susceptibility to lung problems and #covid_19 has left me highly unmotivated to workout...
