August 2015 Favorites!

August 2015 Favorites Target Notebooks and Zoya Nail Polish

I can’t believe that August is over! This month has been crazy. Filled with so many ups and downs. It’s basically been an emotional roller coaster. I moved away from home. Not just like down the road, but I moved four hours away. To a whole new state. A whole new city. And I didn’t know anyone. I was so nervous and so excited at the same time, but let me tell you, I’m so glad I left. I’ve had so many experiences here that I wouldn’t have had if I would’ve stayed in my hometown.

For this month, I’ve compiled a list of favorites. It was hard to come up with them because all of my favorites I wanted to include in my dorm essentials post. I’ve narrowed it down, and so, here are my August favorites!

August 2015 Favorites Target Notebooks and Zoya Nail Polish

  • Journal/Notebook. I’m so glad I picked this up at Target. I wanted to be able to write down my college experiences and more personal information that I probably shouldn’t put on the internet. Plus, no one really writes anymore. I mean people have blogs and do stuff like this, but no one really keeps a journal these days. Writing things by hand has truly become a lost art. I love looking back and reading my journals from when I was younger. I wanted to be able to do that with my college years as well!
  • Ben Rector’s new album, “Brand New.” Can we just talk about this for a minute. This album came out on August 28th and I’m obsessed. It’s AMAZING. I listen to it all the time, and I can’t express how epic it is. This tops all of his other albums. He truly outdid himself on this one. Go check it out. He’s a singer songwriter from Nashville, TN.
  • Contigo water bottles. I am in love with these things. I like them better than the camelbak water bottles people have because of the protective covering that hides the spout. It’s super important to stay hydrated, and these make it super easy to do so. Plus, drinking anything through a straw makes it 10x more fun!

August 2015 Favorites Target Notebooks and Zoya Nail Polish

  • ZOYA nail polish in Carmen. Now, I know I talked about this brand in my July 2015 favorites, but I cannot express to you my love for this polish. It doesn’t chip for at least five or six days. I feel like my base coat fails before this nail polish chips. This red shade is perfect. It’s not too orange or too blue. It’s the perfect shade of red. LOVE IT.
  • Coffee. I’m a college student. I get up early and go to bed late. By mid-afternoon, I’m struggling to keep my eyes open. I usually don’t have time for a nap, so I just drink a cup of coffee. I didn’t used to be much of a coffee drinker, but I’ve gotten very into drinking coffee since being in college. I love the Archer Farms Toasted Hazelnut coffee with vanilla coffee creamer. Plus this gives me an excuse to buy cute coffee mugs. As I’m editing this post, I am currently drinking a cup. I’m obsessed.

What are your current favorites? Do you have anything that you can’t live without? If you do, I’d love to read all about it in the comments. I love hearing from you all!

Taking some time outside of CrossFit to drill down and focus on my weightlifting technique. Snatches and cleans have always been a little intimidating and I’ve been scared to push myself on them for fear of injury. Looking forward to seeing how my lifts progress over the next few months!

Oh, and mental health is doing fantastically, too!

@cattyelizabeth5 and I are back after 3 long months, and we’re so excited to share the first episode of season 5 of Girls Talk! It’s a good one and a pretty great way to spend an hour of your quarantine 💁‍♀️
These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestl These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestly it feels like yesterday. I was 9 months in to my fitness journey, tracked macros like it was my job, and religiously went to the gym 5-6 days a week. Seeing this pop up in my “Memories” was just what I needed today because being stuck at home because of my susceptibility to lung problems and #covid_19 has left me highly unmotivated to workout...
