Going Home for the Weekend!
This past weekend was Labor Day, and it was my first time visiting home while in college! I was on the fence for a while about whether or not I wanted to go home. I love college, and I didn’t want to leave. I had already decided that the next time I would be visiting home would be over Thanksgiving break.
After my first three weeks at college, there were a few items that I had left at home and decided I wanted to have. I left my guitar and my ukulele at home because I didn’t think I would really need them. Well, after a floor jam session, I wanted my guitar. It’s way too delicate to ship so, I either had to make the trip home to pick it up or my parents would have to drive down and drop it off.
I also decided that it was time to visit home after the countless nights of people running around and screaming at like 3 AM. Oh college. The land of no sleep. I routinely sleep with earplugs in to avoid hearing all the noise. And I needed a break from all of that.
I came home and played with my cat all the time. Any opportunity I got, I played with my cat. It was so nice to see him! He’s just so adorable! Look at how cute he is!
I also enjoyed real food. We had pizza one night and spaghetti the other. I also enjoyed some Krispy Kreme doughnuts. They were delicious.
I got such good sleep while being home. I went to bed at like 10:30 every night. Yes, I know. I’m like an old cat lady. I go to bed early and constantly like to be surrounded by cats. There were no screaming people at ungodly hours of the night or the dreadful alarm waking me up at 6:30.
I think the weirdest part about coming is not feeling like I live here anymore. My room isn’t the same. It just felt like I was a visitor. It was a very strange feeling.
Well, that was my experience with going home for the weekend! How often did you go home in college? I love to hear from you all.
