Spring Break Makeup Essentials
Spring break 2016 is finally here! I know my spring break may be a little early, but it is well needed. This year I’m off to Denver, Colorado, to shadow my uncle! Even though it’s still “work,” it’s a nice break from chemistry and English papers.
Since I’m off to Denver for the week, that means a lot of traveling for me. And with traveling comes packing and with packing comes pairing down my makeup to the essentials. Here are my spring break makeup essentials that I can’t live without!
Foundation & Powder
FOUNDATION
The Maybelline FIT me foundation is my all-time favorite. It comes in two finishes (wow that really makes it sound like some kind of paint or something) which really allows for anyone to wear it. Strangely enough, both of the shades pictured above are in the shade 110 PORCELAIN. I don’t know why there’s such a vast difference in color, but I combine the two to get the shade I need and the finish I want.
SETTING SPRAY
Any time I wear makeup, I always wear ELF’s Makeup Mist & Set. I spray it on my face before and after I apply my foundation. I feel that this really allows the foundation to stick and not move all day. (I would use primer, but TBH I ran out of mine and have never repurchased it)
CONCEALER
One of my favorite light-weight concealers is Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser. And wow, I just realized that the picture I took shows the French side of the product. Sorry about that! It goes on smooth and isn’t heavy or cakey what so ever. Perfect for the spring.
POWDER
I will typically use any kind of powder, and the one that I have on hand right now is the Maybelline FITme pressed powder. Just like my foundation, I wear the shade 110 PORCELAIN. Let me know in the comments below if sometimes you’re just too pale for the lightest shade of foundation and/or powder! Because that happens to me all of the time. #palepeopleprobs
Bronzer & Blush
BRONZER
Bronzer is one of my best friends when it comes to makeup. I love how it can transform your face and just makes the whole makeup look look complete. This is the NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Powder in the shade Sunny. It’s only around $3 and is 100% worth buying.
BLUSH
ELF blushes are by far the most amazing, inexpensive blushes on the market. These will cost you only $3 for amazing pigmentation. The blush on the left is in the shade pink passion and the shade on the far right is in the shade candid coral. I love the bright pink shade for spring because it’s light, bright, and fun! Candid coral is a great shade for spring and summer because it adds a bit of a light bronzy, peach to the cheeks.
Mascara & Eyeliner
MASCARA
If there’s anything I can’t leave the house without it’s mascara. The Maybelline The Rocket mascara in the shade blackest black stays on all day, doesn’t flake, and doesn’t easily come off if the smallest bit of water touches it. I’ve tried so many other mascaras and I just keep coming back to this one.
EYELINER
Jordana’s 12 HR Made to Last liquid eyeliner pencil has been my go to for years after finding it at Walgreen’s. It stays all day, doesn’t transfer, and is easy to apply. This eyeliner is extremely creamy, allowing it to easily glide along the eye to create a nice, dark line. And get this, it will only set you back $4 at the most. It comes in several shades. I typically go for the brown, but I had to photograph the black because the label was still visible.
Brushes & Other Things
BRUSHES
Makeup application is so much easier with brushes. Invest in some good brushes, and they’ll last you a lifetime. The ELF brushes are great for people on a budget. At around $3 a piece, they’re super affordable. My favorites are the ELF Stipple Brush, the ELF Powder Brush, and the ELF Flawless Concealer Brush (not pictured). The Sonia Kashuk brushes are a bit more expensive, but sometimes you can find the holiday sets up to 50% off after the holidays. To be honest, I have no idea what brand that pink chevron brush is, but it’s perfect for contouring. I also highly recommend sponges for foundation application, and I would’ve photographed mine, but is extremely dirty and I didn’t want you to judge me 🙂
That’s it for my spring break makeup essentials. I love each and every one these items and highly suggest you to try them. Also, it may seem like this post is sponsored by Maybelline, but it’s not. I just love a ton of their products!
What are some of your favorite makeup products? They don’t just have to be for spring break! I’m always looking for new things to try, so make sure to let me know!
