19th Birthday Recap
19 years old. You know I really remember just yesterday being in elementary school dreaming about being 13. Oh man 13 year-olds were so mature. They were so cool. Now I’m six years past being 13 and I really don’t know how I got here, haha. Middle school and high school passed in the blink of an eye and now I’m sitting here at 19 years old wondering what the heck I want to do with my life.
Anyways, this post is going to be all things celebrating my birthday! I’ve got a haul video and tons of pictures, so brace yourself. Also if you want to check out one of my really old post that covers what I did last year on my 18th birthday, you can see that here. I’m not guaranteeing that post is quality, but it’s really interesting to see A. how much my blogging has improved in one year and B. how similar my birthdays were!
I started off the day with a piece of toast and a 6:45 AM workout session. There’s just something about getting up at the crack of dawn, sweating your butt off, and working your muscles until they’re shaky. It feels amazing! Twitter greeted me with balloons in celebration of my birthday, and I received so many birthday wishes from fellow bloggers, so again, thank you so much! They really made my day!
After taking a much-needed shower and getting dressed for the day, my family let me open my gifts! If you want to see what I got, check out my birthday haul:
I’m in love with everything I got and can’t wait to set up all my new stuff in my dorm room in the fall! (Well in three weeks which is way too soon if you ask me)
We then went to brunch at this amazing restaurant called The Tomato Head here in Knoxville. It’s local and absolutely delicious so if you ever find yourself in Knoxville, make sure you go to The Tomato Head….you’ll never regret it. I got a three egg omelet with feta, spinach, and mushrooms and it was heavenly. The cheese grits and biscuit were also to-die-for. I’ll definitely be going back for brunch to say the least.
Coming back from brunch, I took a little hiatus from the day. I didn’t get my usual four-hour veg session after my workout so I was exhausted. A couple of episodes of New Girl later and I was ready for the rest of the day! You’ll never guess where I went next. That’s right. Target. Imagine that. They have their new school supplies out and I just love school supplies so why not spend my birthday at my favorite store looking at my most favorite items to come out all year. I picked up a planner and a wall calendar because A. I needed them and B. they were just too cute to pass up!
Because I ate a late breakfast (aka brunch), I didn’t officially eat lunch and I was starving by 4 o’clock. My parents and I headed to another local favorite called Pero’s On the Hill. It’s a locally owned Greek restaurant, and again, if you ever find yourself in Knoxville, you’ve gotta check it out. My go-to is typically the chicken Alfredo, but I felt like changing it up a bit. I opted for the Italian sausage and sun-dried tomato Alfredo instead. It was delicious. And because it was my birthday, the waitress surprised me with a fresh piece of homemade baklava. I dream of that baklava it was so good.
After dinner, my mom and I hit the mall, buying some new bras from Aerie. A girl has to have bras. Sorry if that’s tmi. We headed home and called it a night. If you want to see more of the details about what I did throughout the day/weekend, make sure to check out my YouTube channel!
All of you are so amazing, and you all really made my birthday with all of the loving birthday wishes! I hope you enjoyed a look at what I did for my birthday!
