Subtle Ways to Decorate Your Space This Fall
Happy Fall! It’s now officially fall according to the calendar which means that I don’t sound like a crazy person obsessing about fall way before the fall season. Bring out the boots, sweaters, scarves, and pumpkins because I am ready. Sadly here in South Carolina, the weather is still a humid 85 degrees almost every day so the fall wardrobe isn’t in my daily life just yet, but that doesn’t mean I can’t cover my room in fall decor.
For some reason, I’m so pumped about fall this year. I’m not usually a fall person because that means have to be bundled up 24/7, but this year I’m stoked for that. It might be because the weather doesn’t cool off in South Carolina until mid-November and I’m just ready to not be sweating through my clothes multiple times a day. I have a room to myself this year giving me plenty of room to decorate for the holidays. Plus, fall is a season which gives me a good three months to keep the decorations up. Alright, enough rambling about how much I love fall, and let’s just get into some of the fall-themed items I’ve included in my room this year!
Let’s start with the best part: the fall scents. Although dorms don’t allow open flames, there are tons of other ways to keep your room smelling festive through the entire fall season. One option is a candle warmer/beverage warmer. You can find these all over Amazon for super cheap. Not only do they release the smell of the candles, they make your candles last so much longer. And who doesn’t want their candles to last longer?
Can we just talk about this banner for one moment? It’s perfect. The colors, the font, the tassels. Everything. And the best part? It was only $5 at Target! If you’re also looking to pick up this banner, it’s not with the normal fall decor. It’s by the party supplies. Already have the banner? Send me a pic because I’d love to see how you styled it!
Back in the very beginning of September, I took a night to myself to do some painting. What I ended up with were these two beautiful watercolors and one hand lettering piece that is a work in progress. I was inspired by this pin for the watercolor.
A lot of times you can easily recreate what you see on Pinterest for pretty cheap which is great for a college budget. One thing that I’m dying to have is a fall wreath, but I don’t have the $50 to drop on one. One day though. One day.
What are some ways you like to incorporate fall decor into your dorm/apartment/current living situation?
