Morning Skincare Routine

Clear skin has always been a dream but never a reality for me. I had the typical middle school acne, high school was a little better, and I still struggle with the occasional break out now and then. I’ve tried a lot of products over the years that promise to “clear up your skin” or “erase blackheads for good,” but NOTHING ever seemed to work. I’ve found that what I do in the mornings, is essential for having clean skin. Today I’m going to share with you my morning skincare routine.

Morning Skincare Routine | A collaboration with Clarisonic and HerCampus

I have some new and old favorites incorporated into my morning skincare routine, and those include:

  • Clarisonic Mia 2
  • Clean & Clear Essentials Foaming Cleanser
  • Target Acne Face Wash
  • Target Face Lotion
  • Clarisonic Deep Pore Daily Cleanser
  • Clarisonic Detoxifying Clay Mask

the face wash

I’m one to switch up what face wash I use on a daily basis. On a normal day I’ll use the Nutrogena face wash. It’s gentle on skin, cleans extremely well, and doesn’t leave my skin feeling dried out. If I’m breaking out, or I notice that my skin is about to break out, I’ll use the Target Acne Face Wash. Lately, I’ve been loving the Clarisonic Deep Pore Daily Cleanser that came with the Clarisonic Mia 2 and been using that every night before bed.

All three face washes work great with the Clarisonic Mia 2. They create a nice lather and leave my skin feeling super clean.

the Clarisonic

Can I just say that I’ve had my eye on a Clarisonic since middle school, but I’ve never been able to bite the bullet and purchase one for myself. When Her Campus came to me with the opportunity to work with Clarisonic, I was ecstatic. And let me tell you, I should’ve bought one for myself way before this.

The Clarisonic is super gentle on the skin and leaves my skin looking and feeling great. My favorite part about the Clarisonic Mia 2 is that the handle is waterproof which means I can use this guy in the shower! Talk about an effortless way to keep my skin clean and healthy.

I easily noticed improvements in my skin in less than 7 days. My pores are smaller, my blackheads diminished, and my skin looks rejuvenated. I’ve been using the Clarisonic Mia 2 for almost a month now, and there’s no going back. If you have the budget for it, definitely invest!

the face masks

Ok so not quite a part of my daily morning routine, but every now and then on the weekends, I love waking up and applying a face mask. It’s a great way to start the morning, and it leaves my skin feeling wonderful for the rest of the day. I tried out the Clarisonic Detoxifying Clay Mask that came along with the Clarisonic Mia 2, and it’s a wonderful mask. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated and silky smooth.

If you’re looking for something a bit more budget friendly, check out the Que Bella face masks from Target. I found them through Cristina from Cristina Was Here, and they’re amazing!

To top it all off, I make sure to apply a daily face lotion. In the mornings I use the Target SPF face lotion. Gotta get in that SPF because no one wants wrinkles or skin cancer. They also have a version without SPF that is great for before bed.

@cattyelizabeth5 and I are back after 3 long months, and we’re so excited to share the first episode of season 5 of Girls Talk! It’s a good one and a pretty great way to spend an hour of your quarantine 💁‍♀️

I was 9 months in to my fitness journey, tracked macros like it was my job, and religiously went to the gym 5-6 days a week. Seeing this pop up in my “Memories” was just what I needed today because being stuck at home because of my susceptibility to lung problems and #covid_19 has left me highly unmotivated to workout...
