Coffee & Chit Chat | No. 5

Coffee & Chit Chat No 5 | Cover Image

Hello, hello!

I honestly feel like it’s been forever since I’ve done one of these Coffee & Chit Chat posts. When I posted my 2018 reader survey, a good majority of y’all said that you love these posts and you want me to keep them coming. I plan to do one of these at least once a month, and I promise these aren’t going to be completely fitness related. That’s what my project comeback series is for after all?

So I totally meant for this post to go up on Friday, but I fell a little bit behind with being on duty Thursday night and making my life look presentable for when my parents came to town. Hope you don’t mind this post being a few days late 🙂

Since the last update, life has definitely been a rollercoaster of emotions, but let’s get into it!

  • I’m working on a super sneaky secret project for y’all, and I’m so excited! Last week, I shared a few sneak peeks of it on my Insta stories, and I’ll definitely be sharing more sneak peaks in the future, so stay tuned for that!! I think y’all are truly going to love it, and best of all, it’ll be completely free!
  • Like I said earlier, my parents came to town this past weekend, and it was so nice to be able to chill out, eat amazing food, and spend time with them. We went to The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli where my mom and I shared a cinnamon roll that was no joke the size of my head. Later that day we went to Cattitude Cat Cafe and spent an hour with the most amazing kitties in the whole world. To be completely honest, I wish I could live at that cat cafe.
  • I’ve been trying out some skincare products from The Ordinary over the past few weeks. I don’t really know if I’ve seen a difference in my skin. I have pretty persistent acne on my forehead and it’s still there, so I don’t know. I’m going to keep trying it because I know skincare takes a while! If y’all have any suggestions on treating acne, let me know.
  • I have unofficially officially taken on my first two clients for writing workout programs. I say unofficial official because I’m not charging them (which btw I won’t be charging people anytime soon because I don’t feel qualified enough to be charging) and they never actually “hired” me, they just came to me asking for advice. It’s an amazing experience to be connecting with some of my readers on such a personal level, and I’m so excited to see their results!! I’m always here for y’all if you need help with getting in the gym and programming what to do!
  • In less than a week, I’m going to be soaking up the sun in Panama City Beach, Florida, for Spring Break 2k18. I’m most excited for the early morning, sand-filled beach workouts. Also, I got a few new books to read and truly embrace my grandma lifestyle. There should be a post up later this week about what I’m taking with me, and there’s going to be so many posts about beach workouts. Y’all I’m stoked.

#GrayLifeFitLife

You may or may not know that I have my very own healthy lifestyle hashtag on Instagram. I constantly check my hashtag to see all the amazing things y’all are up to and to see how you’re living your best, healthy life!

This hashtag is not limited to gym selfies or salad pics. I want to see what you’re doing to incorporate healthy living into your life! Did you post a pic of a low-calorie coffee on your Insta? Tag it! Did you go on a hike? Tag it! Healthy living isn’t just about what you do in the gym, it’s about your entire life.

Thank you to everyone who tagged their photos! I’m definitely going to be including these #GrayLifeFitLife features in these coffee & chit chat posts because I’m so proud of the healthy lives y’all are living!!

Anyways, that’s about it for this coffee & chit chat update post. Life has been pretty great lately, and I’m just counting down the days until I’ll have my toes in the sand!

What’re your plans for spring break? Are you going somewhere fun or are you staying at home? TBH, this is the first year in a long time I’m actually going somewhere! Also, what have you been loving over the past month or so? Leave me a comment and let me know!!

Taking some time outside of CrossFit to drill down and focus on my weightlifting technique. Snatches and cleans have always been a little intimidating and I’ve been scared to push myself on them for fear of injury. Looking forward to seeing how my lifts progress over the next few months!

Oh, and mental health is doing fantastically, too!

@cattyelizabeth5 and I are back after 3 long months, and we’re so excited to share the first episode of season 5 of Girls Talk! It’s a good one and a pretty great way to spend an hour of your quarantine 💁‍♀️
These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestl These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestly it feels like yesterday. I was 9 months in to my fitness journey, tracked macros like it was my job, and religiously went to the gym 5-6 days a week. Seeing this pop up in my “Memories” was just what I needed today because being stuck at home because of my susceptibility to lung problems and #covid_19 has left me highly unmotivated to workout...
