Here’s the College Must-Have’s that I Can’t Leave My House Without

Hi, hello internet friends!
This post was meant to go up yesterday but I came down with a horrific migraine on Monday which ended up carrying over into Tuesday so yeah. Migraines suck.
This year is my first in regards to not living on campus. I no longer have the luxuries of always having everything I could possibly need within 20 minutes of walking. It’s kinda weird.
Now, I’m forced to carry around everything I could possibly need for a day of classes. Somehow in the blink of an eye, my backpack weighs 300 lbs and it’s going to cause me to have back problems in a few years. But I have found my solution! These are the items that I CANNOT leave the house without…
If you don’t believe me, find me on campus and make me show you all of these items in my backpack LOL
Technology
Because I’m usually on campus for most of the day, I bring what I like to call my “work from anywhere, mini-office setup”.
That’s a long name for a short list of electronic devices LOL
- AirPods
- Phone
- External hard drive
- Laptop
With all of these, I’m able to work on school, web development, and blogging all from one place. I used to never carry my external hard drive with me, but since I’m on campus most of the day, I like to take advantage of all the free time I possibly can.
And since I work from two computers (my laptop and my desktop), I save everything on my external hard drive. Keeps me from having one of those “oh I really want to edit these pictures *goes to look for pictures and they’re not saved on current device*” moments.
School Supplies
Notebooks, Happy Planner, my favorite pen, and my go-to highlighters. That’s all I need.
Comfy Shoes
USC’s campus is pretty darn large which means I do a heck of a lot of walking. I learned my lesson during my freshman year that I have to wear supportive, comfortable shoes around campus, otherwise
There’s nothing like being 21 years old with achy knees…
Also, Columbia is HOT so anything other than open-toed shoes are a no go. And let me tell you, finding supportive, comfortable sandals are virtually IMPOSSIBLE… until now.
Usually, on my days when I go to the gym, I bring my gym shoes and wear my Wiivv sandals.
Y’all these sandals are truly the best sandals I have ever put on my feet. They’re custom 3-D printed to fit your feet perfectly. I’ve been wearing mine for a good 2+ months now, and I can’t get enough.
No knee pain, no back pain, no achy legs, nothing.
Also, the process to get the shoes is even cooler. When you submit your order, you get this magic link to download the Wiivv app. In the app, you take pictures of your feet from specific angles, and that’s how they custom-fit the shoes for you. You get to choose the strap color and arch support color, and they arrive at your door in 10 days! It’s truly insane.
Here are some of the ahhhh-mazing features of the Wiivv sandals:
- custom arch support
- uniquely placed toe thong… no more uncomfortable piece of plastic between your little piggies
- adjustable straps… that’s right. you can move ’em around and change them out
If sandals aren’t your thing and you’re more into close-toed shoes and enhancing the shoes you already have, don’t fret! They have you covered. Wiivv also has custom insoles that are ordered in the exact same way.
To be completely honest, they did send me the sandals for free, but I am 100% looking at (and budgeting for) purchasing a pair of custom insoles for my other shoes… They’re that worth it.
Food
My backpack practically functions as a mobile food pantry. Find me on campus and I’ve got you covered with granola bars, fruit, and chopped veggies.
I schedule my classes (and my parking spot) so I’m on campus for most of the day. That means packing enough food so I’m not ravenous by the time I get home…
I like to be prepared for almost anything when I’m out and about on campus. Hangry? I got u covered.
