Lessons from One Year Blogging
Lessons from one year blogging. What. No. One full year? It’s hard to believe that I’ve made it an entire year in the blogging world! I’m one of those people who’ll start a project and then quit three months later because they got bored. I’ll be the first to admit that I started to blog as a temporary thing. I didn’t expect to last six month let alone a year!
I feel like once you get one year down, it’s easy to keep things going. I’ve fully adopted the lifestyle of a blogger, constantly thinking of post ideas and always looking for the perfect Instagram shot. I’m obsessed with my planner, coffee mugs, coffee, hand lettering, and my camera. I think it’s safe to say I’m gonna stick with this whole blogging thing for a good while. 🙂
Lessons from one year blogging:
there’s no such thing as owning too many coffee mugs
I mean those breakfast or late night studying Instas all can’t have the same coffee mugs, right? LOL well I do blame blogging for my constant coffee mug impulse buys.
bloggers make amazing friends
Although I don’t personally know any of my fellow college bloggers, I truly have developed amazing friendships. They’re there to answer all of my silly questions about worrying about Pinterest traffic to hearing my rants about technology not working the way I want it to or how annoyed I am at life sometimes. My friends from back home don’t understand the struggles that come with blogging. In their mind they’re thinking, “Why do you need new profile pictures? Who cares what your image quality is?” It’s nice to have a community of people who all understand the struggles.
saving product packaging is a must
I don’t dare throw away or recycle any product packaging unless I know for certain that I’m not going to write a blog post on said item. There’s nothing worse than gathering photo shoot supplies and realizing you have no product packaging. Why does that matter? Well what are you going to use as a background object? What are you going to use to prop said item up? NEVER THROW AWAY PRODUCT PACKAGING.
my planner is now my life
What blogger doesn’t live and sleep with their planner? Ok that’s a bit much, but seriously, if I don’t have my planner it’s literal separation anxiety. That’s the only thing keeping my mind straight with post schedules, newsletter schedules, post ideas, and not to mention my personal life! Want to hear me obsess over my planner even more? Check out my bullet journal.
Take so many pictures
Take pictures of your food. Take pictures of you holding a drink (coffee, of course!). Take pictures of your outfit. Take pictures of your nail color. Take pictures of everything. There’s nothing worse than not having something to post on Insta. I’m still trying to get the hang of this one.
give to receive
Give love to other bloggers’ sites, and you may just find you’re own stats will improve. I love commenting on other blogs and Instas because everyone is so nice!
blogging is hard work, but it’s totally worth it
There’s nothing easy about it. But, just because it’s hard doesn’t mean I don’t love it. I don’t know what I’d be doing with my life if I wasn’t blogging. I honestly don’t know.
Well there we go, the end of the last post from my first year blogging. My blogiversary is tomorrow (June 4th) and there’s going to be a surprise for all my readers out there! I just want to thank all of you for supporting me throughout this journey. You don’t understand how happy it makes me to see your comments and see your support on social media and the blog. I’m like a child on Christmas morning. THANK YOU FOR ONE YEAR!
