Long Lasting Nails at Home

Nail polish has two moods. It’ll be cooperative and will last for upwards of a week, or it’ll want to ruin your life and chip within a day or two. I always feel like I’m wasting so much of my time painting my nails because I end up having to repaint them every two or three days! I’d had enough of that and sought after a way to make my nail polish last.

Want long lasting nails without the salon price? Find out how one product will make long lasting nails at home a piece of cake!

Browsing through the Internet and Pinterest one day, I stumbled across this product that everyone RAVES about. It’s an easy and inexpensive way to achieve long lasting nails at home. What is it, you may be asking?

Products Used:

  • American Classics GELOUS Nail Gel Coat
    • Can be found on Amazon or at Sally Beauty
  • China Glaze in Red-y to Rave
  • Zoya Naked Manicure top coat

This is it. This is the holy grail product. I’ll never return to a regular base coat again. The American Classics Gelous Nail Gel Coat creates a gel-like finish to your nails and makes them last exponentially longer than your regular base coat. Now, it’s not going to give you the same long-lasting power of gel nails, but it’s pretty darn good for an at-home system.

Step 1: Apply one thin-ish coat of the Gelous Nail Gel Coat. Let dry for 3-5 minutes

Step 2: Repeat step 1.

Step 3: Apply a thin coat of whatever nail polish color you choose. Let dry 5ish minutes or until a light touch won’t smudge the polish.

Step 4: Apply another coat of the Gelous Nail Gel Coat. Let dry 3-5 minutes.

Please excuse the phone in the picture. Otherwise you couldn’t read the writing on the bottle at all. But how cute is that phone case? The best part? Only $10!

Step 5: Apply another slightly thicker layer of the polish of your choice. Let dry almost completely

Step 6: Apply the top coat of your choice. Let dry.

This takes just as long if not maybe a few minutes than your regular base, color, and top coat routine. But, think of all of the time that you won’t have to repaint your nails. Sounds like a win-win situation to me!

Have you tried the Gelous Nail Gel Coat before? Or do you have another way to make your polish last longer?

@cattyelizabeth5 and I are back after 3 long months, and we’re so excited to share the first episode of season 5 of Girls Talk! It’s a good one and a pretty great way to spend an hour of your quarantine 💁‍♀️

I was 9 months in to my fitness journey, tracked macros like it was my job, and religiously went to the gym 5-6 days a week. Seeing this pop up in my “Memories” was just what I needed today because being stuck at home because of my susceptibility to lung problems and #covid_19 has left me highly unmotivated to workout...
