Coffee & Chit Chat | NO. 6
Hello, hello!
I know I’ve been a bit MIA recently, and for that I apologize. I’m not going to make any excuses because quite frankly, the blog has not been a top priority of mine. Since the beginning of May, a lot has been going on, and I’ve been focusing more on other aspects of my life rather than this blog.
If you don’t believe me that my life has been a bit crazy (I mean we all say that we’re crazy busy all the time, so I totally understand if you don’t believe me), here’s a little summary of just the month of May:
- First and foremost, my 4-week workout program Strong & Confident is live!! I worked for over 2 months on this program, and I’m so proud of it. You can read more about it in the release post or by visiting the workout program page. Essentially it’s a 4-week program designed to introduce you to the weight room and find your inner strength and confidence. The gym changed my life, and I’m pretty sure it can change yours, too.
- The first week of the month was finals week. The thing about spring semester finals week is that it’s not just finals week for me. As an RA, we have resident checkouts during that time so not only did I have five finals to study for, but I also had 38 residents of my own to check out as well as any residents that needed to check out during my ‘on-call’ hours. It was hectic to say the least.
- Finals went decently well for me. Am I stoked with my final grades? No. A’s and B’s are how I roll now because after all, there’s much more to college than just the classes. Sure I need to do well in class, but my social life and mental health are also important, too. After a rough fall semester with all that anxiety stuff, I realized the importance of being okay and happy mentally. That trumps anything else in life. And with the whole anxiety thing, I’m doing really well and I think I’ve gotten it under control.
- On top of finals and resident check-outs, I also had to move! This year it was a bit different because I moved to a house about five minutes from campus so it wasn’t that bad. I managed to get rid of a ton of stuff that I didn’t need, and that alone reduced the amount of stuff that I had by a significant amount. We’re talking almost an entire car load worth of stuff that I ended up donating.
- Speaking of moving into a house, I FREAKING MOVED INTO MY VERY FIRST HOUSE!!! Y’all I am so excited. I love the place so much. It’s just the right size, it’s so quiet, and best of all, I have a full-sized kitchen all to myself. Right now I’m just chilling there with Chips the Beta fish for the summer because my roommate doesn’t move in until August. I have a ton of #AdultingWithAbigail posts planned about how I decorated my space and how I did it all on a budget. I can’t wait to share everything with y’all!
- The third week of the month was when I started my internship. That first week was a struggle because I’m just not used to being on such a tight schedule in the mornings, or having to pack my lunch, or having to sit down all freaking day, or constantly being tired when I get home from work in the evenings. With all that aside, I do love my internship, and I think it’s going to be a great summer!

I just want to say that I have a very exciting thing planned for June 9th, and I cannot wait to share it with y’all! It’s been 3 years in the making, and you are going to freak when you find out. #Charlotte #BloggerMeetup #ItsASecret
As for upcoming content and summer plans, I cannot wait to share my house tour with you! I can’t decide if I want to do the entire house at once or break it up into rooms… Let me know your opinion in the comments below. I’ve got some DIYs that go along with that house tour, and I definitely have some advice about moving and purchasing furniture all on a budget. Keep an eye out on the blog for some exciting stuff!
I hope you’ve had an amazing week, and have fun this Memorial Day weekend! Get some sun, eat good food, and enjoy sleeping in for an extra day. What fun things do you have planned for this weekend or even this summer??
