How on Earth is it Mid-November??? | Coffee & Chit Chat No. 10

Hi, hello! Good morning and happy Monday. Happy Thanksgiving week!

This post was supposed to go out on Friday, but… I had a photoshoot on Saturday, which we’ll get to in a minute, and I didn’t want to do this post without showing the pictures!

Here’s a little snippet of what’s been going on in my life since Chit Chat #9!

Windy Hill Fall Festival

Now I can safely say that I’ve been drunk before 1 PM…

Brad and I headed up to Windy Hill Orchard & Cidery in York, South Carolina. It was only about an hour or so drive from Columbia, and it was a beautiful way to kick off the fall season and enjoy some delicious donuts and cider at the same time.

Getting the IUD

If you just now found the blog or you just started listening to the podcast, you might not know that I’ve been thinking about getting an IUD because I was sick and tired of taking birth control pills every freaking day.

Well… it finally happened. I’m turning the whole experience into a series on the blog, and you can read Part 1 here. In Part 1, I share my struggles with PCOS and gave a bit of a backstory as to why I wanted to switch things up. Part 2 will be out soon (possibly in the next 2 weeks) about my experience actually getting the IUD inserted. *spoiler alert* it hurt a lot.

That’s all I really want to say on that subject right now, but its in, its doing it’s job, and I’m still alive.

Photoshoot

Huge shoutout to my friend Allison for getting up early-ish on a Saturday morning to meet me and take photos.

She’s actually the one who took the cover photo for Strong & Confident (which you should totally get your free copy if you haven’t already…)

All photos were processed with Gabby Whiten presets.

Podcast

Not to toot our own horns, but Caitlyn and I have been KILLING the podcast lately. We took a few weeks off and now we’re back with season 2. We have a whole new ‘Life Updates’ intro which is probably my favorite thing in the whole world.

We’re working hard on new episodes every week, and if you have any topic ideas, please hit us up in our Instagram DMs or on Twitter.

We’re already 5 weeks in on Season 2, and if you’re not caught up… what are you doing with your life??

Fitness

It’s looking like my squat and deadlift goals are most likely not going to be a reality by the end of the year…

I’m not super upset about that because they were goals that I’d be ecstatic if I achieved them but not heartbroken if I didn’t. I can only blame myself for not achieving those goals, and I’m not going to make any excuses as to why I didn’t achieve them.

I’ve been inconsistent lately with training squats and deads. With my squats, I’ve been nursing a minor groin strain injury thing and I didn’t want it to get any worse with continuing to squat rather heavy. I’ve been “stuck” with the weights on my deadlifts for quite a while now and I just haven’t had the extra motivation to push through… I’ve been setling to say the least.

New goal: 200+ on deads & at least 135 on squats by the time I graduate in May.

I hope you have an amazing Thanksgiving and you fill your stomachs full of delicious food ๐Ÿ™‚ I know I’ll be enjoying so many servings of pie and green beans and mashed potatoes and stuffing… UGH I’m getting so excited just thinking about it!

@cattyelizabeth5 and I are back after 3 long months, and weโ€™re so excited to share the first episode of season 5 of Girls Talk! Itโ€™s a good one and a pretty great way to spend an hour of your quarantine ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ

Seeing this pop up in my โ€œMemoriesโ€ was just what I needed today because being stuck at home because of my susceptibility to lung problems and #covid_19 has left me highly unmotivated to workout...
