My College Orientation Experience

college-orientation-experience

I think this whole college admission and acceptance process is one of the most drawn out things. I applied back in October, I received my acceptance in December, I committed to the University of South Carolina back in May, and now, in June, I went to college orientation!

Orientation began bright and early Monday morning at 7:45.

Campus was full of a nervous but exciting energy, and the orientation leaders were extremely peppy. I dropped off my stuff in the dorm where I would be spending the night, and then my dad and I headed off to the breakfast that they so graciously provided. They had quite the spread; pastries, granola and yogurt, bagels, and more. After breakfast, I went to go get my student ID. My official ID. My college ID.

I’m still having a hard time processing that I am actually going to college. Luckily, they gave us the option to upload our own picture so I was please with my appearance.

…So I Met Taylor Swift

1989-tour-cover

Taylor Swift is one of the biggest names in music. She’s creative, beautiful, and popular among every age group. I’ve been following Taylor for over 8 years now. I first noticed her when she was on The Ellen Degeneres Show and sang her well-known hit “Our Song.” She captured my attention, and I was hooked.

When her album 1989 came out in October, she held this sweepstakes called the Swiftstakes. I entered my code that came with my album, not thinking anything about winning.

I mean what are the chances that someone actually wins those things…

Well, two weeks later I get this e-mail from Taylor’s team informing me that I had been selected as a Grand Prize winner. Only 250 people were randomly selected to win the grand prize. The grand prize consisted of two meet-and-greet passes and two concert tickets. I was a little skeptical of the e-mail. It came from a weirdish looking e-mail address, and it had a link taking me to a random google form.

I took my chances and filled out my information. In mid-December, I received another e-mail stating that I had cleared security and was officially a grand prize winner.

High School: A Reflection

high-school-graduation

As a child, I never thought I’d make it to high school, let alone graduate. Now I’m sitting here, on my computer, in middle of summer, with nothing to do. I’m a high school graduate. I still don’t think that has actually sunk in quite yet. When I think of high school, I remember the good, the bad, and the ugly. No one makes it out of high school unscathed. And I was no exception. I went through my fair share of stress, loneliness, confusion, and heartbreak.

Also, stress painted my nails last night because I was so nervous for a job interview I had today... anyone else feel like they suck at job interviews??
Feeling strong in more ways than one 💪🏼 Taking so Feeling strong in more ways than one 💪🏼

Taking some time outside of CrossFit to drill down and focus on my weightlifting technique. Snatches and cleans have always been a little intimidating and I’ve been scared to push myself on them for fear of injury. Looking forward to seeing how my lifts progress over the next few months!

Oh, and mental health is doing fantastically, too!

@cattyelizabeth5 and I are back after 3 long months, and we’re so excited to share the first episode of season 5 of Girls Talk! It’s a good one and a pretty great way to spend an hour of your quarantine 💁‍♀️
These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestl These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestly it feels like yesterday. I was 9 months in to my fitness journey, tracked macros like it was my job, and religiously went to the gym 5-6 days a week. Seeing this pop up in my “Memories” was just what I needed today because being stuck at home because of my susceptibility to lung problems and #covid_19 has left me highly unmotivated to workout...
I honestly forgot how productive I am whenever I w I honestly forgot how productive I am whenever I work from a coffee shop ☕️ No pantry full of food, no comfy bed, and no opportunity to take a nap. Working from home is great and all, but it can be so distracting 😂
