Canvas Dorm Decor

Canvas Dorm decor south carolina

This past week has been a whirlwind. I left Columbia on Tuesday due to the natural disaster that was occurring at the time. School was canceled all of last week due to flooding and water problems. Needless to say, I had plenty of time on my hands and I was itching to do something crafty. I’ve done several DIY projects for my dorm over the summer, but my room still needed more decorations!

I originally saw this pin on Pinterest and knew I wanted to do something similar. I’d seen this “How to Be a True Gamecock”  sign before, and instead of buying it, I decided to make it! I first sketched my idea out on paper. Then, I transferred it to the canvas and started painting! I kept the decorations to a minimum partially because I had no idea what designs to put on the canvas, and I wanted the words to stand out. I absolutely love how it turned out! It’s not perfect, but that just makes it more meaningful.

Top 5 Dorm Foods

top five foods for a dorm room

Eating is a major part of college. Whether it’s late-night snacks, or early morning breakfasts, having food in your dorm is essential. Now, this is a list of my top five dorm foods. This is not a list of top five healthy dorm foods. These are just foods that I enjoy to have in my room because they make great snacks on occasion. If you constantly eat these, the freshman 15 will be real.

So What’s the Big Deal about Pumpkin Spice?

What's the big deal about pumpkin spice?

Pumpkin spice. It’s the quintessential fall flavor. Even though it’s only out in stores for a limited time, the words ‘pumpkin spice’ are mentioned all year round. I think this obsession over pumpkin spice has exponentially increased in the past three or four years. When I was a freshman in high school, my friend would come to school almost every day with a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks in hand. I had never heard of this drink before, and at the time, I wasn’t into coffee. I had no desire to try it. According to the internet (I know, such a reliable source), Starbucks launched the Pumpkin Spice Latte back in 2003. How come this hasn’t become popular except in recent years?

Fall Food Favorites

fall-food-favorites-cover

I don’t know about you, but I love fall and Halloween. Since it’s October, it’s officially time to break out the fall food. Although the Pumpkin Spice Latte has been out for a while at Starbucks, I just now started getting into the fall food spirit. I’ve compiled an entire list of my favorite fall foods, from drinks(non-alcoholic of course) to desserts.

Call me a #commonwhitegirl, but I love pumpkin. Pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin tea, pumpkin pie. You name it and it’s pumpkin, I probably will love it. Now, I’m not a big fan of the Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks. There’s no flavor to it, and have you seen the color of it?? There’s no way I need to put that in my body.

Blogger Buddies Mail Unboxing #2

blogger buddies pen pal for bloggers

I cannot believe that it’s been an entire month since my last Blogger Buddies snail mail post! In case you have no idea what Blogger Buddies is, I’ll go ahead and give you a brief run-down. Each month you are paired up with a different blogger and you exchange information and get to know each other over the course of the month. By the 20th of that given month, you send out a letter to them! A majority of the members are college bloggers like myself, but there’s really no age limit. You receive a different pen pal each month, and then by the 20th of whatever month it currently is, you send a letter to your pen pal! It’s a great way to get to know the blogger community, and it’s such a wonderful support system!

Taking some time outside of CrossFit to drill down and focus on my weightlifting technique. Snatches and cleans have always been a little intimidating and I’ve been scared to push myself on them for fear of injury. Looking forward to seeing how my lifts progress over the next few months!

Oh, and mental health is doing fantastically, too!

@cattyelizabeth5 and I are back after 3 long months, and we’re so excited to share the first episode of season 5 of Girls Talk! It’s a good one and a pretty great way to spend an hour of your quarantine 💁‍♀️
These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestl These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestly it feels like yesterday. I was 9 months in to my fitness journey, tracked macros like it was my job, and religiously went to the gym 5-6 days a week. Seeing this pop up in my “Memories” was just what I needed today because being stuck at home because of my susceptibility to lung problems and #covid_19 has left me highly unmotivated to workout...
