Here’s What You Really Need from Target’s ‘On to College’ Collection

Target On To College Cover

Ugh, y’all. Target has their back-to-school and on-to-college collections filling the store, and TBH, I just want to buy everything. I’m a sucker for Target, and I’m an even bigger sucker for anything back-to-school related…

When you combine the two, I have zero self-control.

Anyways, I know a ton of you are heading to college for the very first time!! Congrats on graduating high school and starting this new and exciting portion of your life!!

When it comes to back-to-school shopping and dorm supplies and all of those “here’s what you really need for college” posts on Pinterest that include everything but the kitchen sink, chances are you don’t need half that stuff. You’ll be kicking yourself at the end of the year when you’re moving out and you have to pack up all this crap that you didn’t even use but all of those posts swore that you needed.

So, I went through the entire ‘On to College‘ section on Target and picked out what you really need! I did all the hard work for you… also, this post is not sponsored. I just love Target.

Celebrating My 21st | Coffee & Chit Chat No. 7

Coffee And Chit Chat No 7

I’M FINALLY LEGAL!!

Okay now that my excitement about that is out of the way, I just want to say a big hello because it’s been a hot minute since I’ve written a blog post.

Not gonna lie. I’ve been a bit unmotivated and I’m just generally confused about what I want to do with my life… aren’t we all though? It’s been quite a month, and it’s been quite a long time since I’ve sat down to update you on my life. After all, a lot of things have been happening!

Originally I was going to do a 21st birthday recap post all on its own, but my birthday was last Monday, and I definitely feel like too much time has passed to do a dedicated post on my birthday. Hope you’re okay with the combination of two posts into one!

4 Workouts to try During Your Next Gym Session

4 Workouts For Your Next Gym Session

Remember the workout program I released back in May?? It’s completely free so if you haven’t downloaded your copy, what’re you waiting for!?

I’ll pause for a brief second so you can hop on over and download your free copy.

Anyways, I never really talked about how that program truly came to be. One day, I got a DM on Instagram from this girl named Grace. She wanted some help developing a routine and program that she could stick to and that would help her become more confident in and out of the gym. I jumped right on board to help her, and about a week later, the program for what later became Strong & Confident was born.

She’s been following that program almost religiously since March, and she is loving it. I’m so proud of her and her newfound dedication to the gym!

Anyways, let’s get to the point of this post!

Day Trip to Charlotte with Gabby!

Charlotte Cover

Hello, hello! This past Saturday I was in the presence of a blogging goddess.

Gabby and Hannah have created a magical place on the Internet full of happiness and positivity. From their Instagram hashtag #swirlsocial to their always-on-point Twitter, they’re nothing but encouraging, hilarious, and relatable.

I’ve been wanting to meet up with Gabby for a hot minute now because she isn’t super far from where I live in South Carolina, and I wanted her to work her photography magic on me. 2018 seems to be the year of blogger meetups for me (peep that time when Caitlyn came to visit me over winter break), so I had to try my best to meet Gabby before she moves to NYC for med school.

A few weeks ago, I messaged her, and the rest is history. We set a date to meet in Charlotte, we texted back and forth about places we had to visit, and we were both stressing out about what to wear.

** Gabby is an amazing NC based (soon to be NYC based) photographer. Photos in this post were edited using Gabby’s Lightroom presets that she is planning on releasing in the near future. **

A Word of Advice to New Bloggers

New Blogger Advice Cover

Hello, hello!

The end of May and beginning of June is usually a time for me to go through the blog, rework some things, and do all of the work that I’ve been putting off for the past year. I’m out of school and I’ve got a lot more free time and mental space to think about and work on the blog.

As I was doing my annual blog clean up, I noticed some major mistakes that I was making throughout my first few years as a blogger.

As June 4th of this year, I will officially have been blogging for 3 years. How insane is that? I also think I can now classify myself as an experienced blogger who can actually share some advice on the subject. This post is a long one, so buckle down and get ready!

Happy 3 Year Blogiversary!!

3 Year Blogiversary Cover

Hello, hello!!

Today (well yesterday when you’re reading this) is a very exciting day. Today Living the Gray Life turns THREE!!

Oh my goodness, three whole years. That. Is. Crazy.

After last year’s mishap of completely missing my blogiversary, I refused to let it happen again this year. So here we are! This post is going to be a celebration of this blog and all of my favorite parts and why I blog and this and that and just a bunch of random stuff all tied together by the fact that I’ve been committed to something for three years.

Fun fact that you might not know: before this blog, I had another blog and a YouTube channel. Senior year of high school I started a nail polish blog called Polish and Things, and that was a failed disaster because I didn’t realize just how much work running a nail polish blog was going to be. Then I started a YouTube channel. I did quite a few videos on there, didn’t really get any traction, found out that I didn’t like to have to look presentable every time I wanted to create content, and so that was the end of that.

Soaking in all the spooky vibes 🎃 Soaking in all the spooky vibes 🎃
So this happened last night... So this happened last night...
Haven’t posted a mirror selfie in probably a year Haven’t posted a mirror selfie in probably a year and a half... feeling proud of my progress 💪🏼

Also, stress painted my nails last night because I was so nervous for a job interview I had today... anyone else feel like they suck at job interviews??
Feeling strong in more ways than one 💪🏼 Taking so Feeling strong in more ways than one 💪🏼

Taking some time outside of CrossFit to drill down and focus on my weightlifting technique. Snatches and cleans have always been a little intimidating and I’ve been scared to push myself on them for fear of injury. Looking forward to seeing how my lifts progress over the next few months!

Oh, and mental health is doing fantastically, too!

@cattyelizabeth5 and I are back after 3 long months, and we’re so excited to share the first episode of season 5 of Girls Talk! It’s a good one and a pretty great way to spend an hour of your quarantine 💁‍♀️
These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestl These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestly it feels like yesterday. I was 9 months in to my fitness journey, tracked macros like it was my job, and religiously went to the gym 5-6 days a week. Seeing this pop up in my “Memories” was just what I needed today because being stuck at home because of my susceptibility to lung problems and #covid_19 has left me highly unmotivated to workout...
I honestly forgot how productive I am whenever I w I honestly forgot how productive I am whenever I work from a coffee shop ☕️ No pantry full of food, no comfy bed, and no opportunity to take a nap. Working from home is great and all, but it can be so distracting 😂
