Fall 2017 Skincare Routine

Fall 2017 Skincare Routine feat. Clarisonic

I think this is the first time in my entire life that I’ve ever had a full-on skincare routine. I’ve been a 2x-a-day face washing girl with day and night moisturizer for probably the past 8 years. I haven’t strayed much from it because it worked to an extent, but since August, my face has been a bit out of control, and I figured that as a 20-year-old, I should probably start taking better care of my skin.

Recently my face has been that of a pubescent middle schooler, and I’m not too fond of that.

I don’t know if it’s hormonal changes, if it’s my anxiety, if it’s the stress of school, or a combination of everything, but whatever it is, I’m not happy about it.

It’s messing with my self-confidence, and it’s just straight up frustrating to look in the mirror and see my forehead covered in red bumps. To deal with it for the day, it’s always the toss up of covering my face in makeup to try and hide the problem or letting my skin breathe and feeling like everyone’s staring at my face all day.

Fall 2017 Fitness Goals

Fall 2017 Fitness Goals

Hello, hello!

Y’all after a solid year of becoming basically best friends and constantly talking about doing a collaboration, Caitlyn and I are finally making it happen.

Read her post here!

Just in case you don’t know, Caitlyn is a fellow college blogger (College with Caitlyn) and fitness enthusiast. She’s a junior at Northern Kentucky University studying mathematics and computer science. I can’t really remember how Caitlyn and I “met”, but it was probably me bombarding her with messages on some platform. I would consistently ask questions and for advice, and eventually, we exchanged numbers, and here we are.

Grace Hopper Celebration 2017

Grace Hopper Celebration of Women In Computing 2017 Orlando Florida

Good morning! This post was 100% supposed to go out yesterday, but there’s been a little bit of stuff going on in my personal life, and I just didn’t have the motivation to write this post on Monday. But here we are, so let’s get into it!

On October 3rd, I threw all my business casual outfits in a suitcase, Ubered for the first time to the airport, and hopped on a plane to Orlando, Florida. Well, we stopped in Charlotte for a bit, but we made it to Orlando eventually.

But Abigail, why did you go to Orlando??

If you haven’t been following this blog for the past few weeks, you probably don’t know that I was selected as one of 15 students from my university to attend this year’s Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing. I attended last year, had an amazing time, and ever since that trip, I knew I was somehow going to make it to this year’s Grace Hopper Celebration. So this is a huge shoutout to my university for sending me to Orlando to be a part of this amazing experience.

September Recap & Chit Chat

September Recap & Chit Chat

Good morning and happy Friday! I’m coming to you today from the lovely Orlando, Florida. I’m here for the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing, but I’ll get into that a bit later. Another month has passed which means it’s time for another monthly recap and chit chat post.

It’s hard to believe another month has gone by…. I feel like I say that every month, but it’s true. As I’ve gotten older, time just seems to fly by, and I don’t like it haha. September was definitely a month full of changes.

Fitness & Travel

Good morning, y’all, and happy Tuesday! I’ve been struggling with post ideas for the past week or so, and I did what every blogger advises: look at your own life and go from there. Well, I’m going to Orlando this week for the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing, and that means I’m traveling! You know what else that means? My workout split is about to be all over the place and my nutrition is definitely about to be not so great.

I know when I first started on my fitness journey, the idea of not being able to make it to the gym for a week was the equivalent of never being able to train again. I caused myself so much unnecessary stress because I thought a week or two off of the gym was going to be the end of my life.

Coffee & Chit Chat No. 3

Coffee and Chit Chat No. 3

Okay so remember in my August Recap & Chit Chat post how I said I was going to limit myself to one chit chat post a month because I didn’t want my blog to just be filled with a ton of chit chat posts?

Welp I’m breaking my own rule on this one, haha. I’ve come to realize that it’s going to be virtually impossible for me to churn out two high-quality posts a week with all the stuff I’m trying to balance in my life at the moment. Doing a chit chat post every other week is going to be my saving grace.

Haven’t posted a mirror selfie in probably a year Haven’t posted a mirror selfie in probably a year and a half... feeling proud of my progress 💪🏼

Also, stress painted my nails last night because I was so nervous for a job interview I had today... anyone else feel like they suck at job interviews??

Taking some time outside of CrossFit to drill down and focus on my weightlifting technique. Snatches and cleans have always been a little intimidating and I’ve been scared to push myself on them for fear of injury. Looking forward to seeing how my lifts progress over the next few months!

Oh, and mental health is doing fantastically, too!

@cattyelizabeth5 and I are back after 3 long months, and we’re so excited to share the first episode of season 5 of Girls Talk! It’s a good one and a pretty great way to spend an hour of your quarantine 💁‍♀️
These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestl These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestly it feels like yesterday. I was 9 months in to my fitness journey, tracked macros like it was my job, and religiously went to the gym 5-6 days a week. Seeing this pop up in my “Memories” was just what I needed today because being stuck at home because of my susceptibility to lung problems and #covid_19 has left me highly unmotivated to workout...
I honestly forgot how productive I am whenever I w I honestly forgot how productive I am whenever I work from a coffee shop ☕️ No pantry full of food, no comfy bed, and no opportunity to take a nap. Working from home is great and all, but it can be so distracting 😂
