Coffee & Chit Chat No. 4

First and foremost, it’s been way too long since I’ve done one of these posts! I’m not going to lie. I’ve been a bit uninspired to post on the blog and Instagram since I’ve been struggling with not being in the gym. But good news! I’m feeling almost 100% and I think I’m back in the gym for good!

I looked back at my posts, and the last time I did a chit chat thing was in my October Recap so I definitely have a lot to fill you in since then! I’m also including 2 new sections in this post because I saw Kayla do them and I loved them so I decided to steal those ideas and include them in my own posts, haha. Alright, let’s get into it!

Sick Once Again | Project Comeback Ep. 2

Project Comeback Ep. 2

You might’ve noticed I’ve been a little absent from the fitness sphere since my last Project Comeback installment…

Well here’s the truth. I may have pushed a little too hard when I went back to the gym in November, and I paid the price for that. I got pretty sick the second week of December. It wasn’t the flu or anything super serious, but I was just feeling awful and had a stuffy nose and basically, it was a really bad cold.

I decided it’d be best to just take some more time off of the gym, truly let myself recover, and let go of the fear of losing all my progress by taking some additional time off.

A Weekend with Caitlyn

Caitlyn in Knoxville | Cover Image

Y’all it finally happened! Caitlyn and I actually lifted together, ate lots of brunch, drank tons of coffee, and bonded over our eerie similarities.

Her visit was in the works for almost a month and a half, and somehow we both managed to keep it a secret for the entire time. I’m kinda proud of us for that one! But anyways, she and I had the most amazing weekend, and I never wanted her to leave. Here’s a look at what we did while she was in town.

Blogger Secret Santa 2017

Ho, ho, ho! Merry Christmas!

Welcome to the annual Blogger Secret Santa reveal post! Last year was such a huge success that we decided to bring it back for another year! I’ve been able to co-host the amazing Blogger Secret Santa with a fellow blogger and South Carolina resident, Cathleen Slagle. Cathleen is a blogger over at Classy Cathleen and she’s an amazing photographer. She loves Christmas just as much as I do, and we love being able to bring bloggers together in real life instead of just over the Internet.

Staying Fit During the Holidays

How to Stay Fit During the Holidays

Just in case you didn’t know, we’re right in the heart of the holiday season which means delicious festive drinks from Starbucks, lots of decadent cookies, drinking a little to much wine, and tons of holiday foods that only come out around this time of year. Oh wait, did I mention eating lots of lots of food?

Sometimes for me, the holiday season can bring a bit of stress because I have a slight fear of gaining a little winter fluff and falling off the fitness train.

Here’s my number one guideline when it comes to balancing fitness and the holidays: The holidays come once a year. Fitness is available every single day.

Not to get dark here, but you never know when that will be someone’s last Thanksgiving or last Christmas. It’s important to put family and friends first, especially during the holidays.

Soaking in all the spooky vibes 🎃 Soaking in all the spooky vibes 🎃
So this happened last night... So this happened last night...
Haven’t posted a mirror selfie in probably a year Haven’t posted a mirror selfie in probably a year and a half... feeling proud of my progress 💪🏼

Also, stress painted my nails last night because I was so nervous for a job interview I had today... anyone else feel like they suck at job interviews??
Feeling strong in more ways than one 💪🏼 Taking so Feeling strong in more ways than one 💪🏼

Taking some time outside of CrossFit to drill down and focus on my weightlifting technique. Snatches and cleans have always been a little intimidating and I’ve been scared to push myself on them for fear of injury. Looking forward to seeing how my lifts progress over the next few months!

Oh, and mental health is doing fantastically, too!

@cattyelizabeth5 and I are back after 3 long months, and we’re so excited to share the first episode of season 5 of Girls Talk! It’s a good one and a pretty great way to spend an hour of your quarantine 💁‍♀️
These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestl These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestly it feels like yesterday. I was 9 months in to my fitness journey, tracked macros like it was my job, and religiously went to the gym 5-6 days a week. Seeing this pop up in my “Memories” was just what I needed today because being stuck at home because of my susceptibility to lung problems and #covid_19 has left me highly unmotivated to workout...
I honestly forgot how productive I am whenever I w I honestly forgot how productive I am whenever I work from a coffee shop ☕️ No pantry full of food, no comfy bed, and no opportunity to take a nap. Working from home is great and all, but it can be so distracting 😂
