What You Need to Survive the Weekend Coffee Shop Study Session

This post contains a product that was sent to me for free. In no way does that influence my opinion of the product. Thank you for supporting Living the Gray Life.

Weekend Coffee Shop Study Session Essentials

My most favorite part about school being back in session is spending my entire Saturday and/or Sunday at my local Starbucks. I would go to a local spot, but I’ve got that Gold Member status at Starbucks and I’m all about those free refills…

Anyways, as I was saying, I basically live in coffee shops on the weekends. I love the environment, the constant background chatter is honestly very soothing, and I love people watching.

But, there’s nothing worse than getting a table, sitting down, take your first sip of coffee, and realize you forgot your sticky notes or your textbook. Can we all just agree that that’s actually the worst??

Gym Mistakes

Hello! Wow, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve actually sat down to write a post for the week it’s actually going live. In case you didn’t know, I had all the posts written and scheduled for the month of August. Life was a bit hectic with res life training, move-in, classes starting, and trying to figure out my routine for the next four months. But, I’m back, and to be honest, I’ve been itching to write this post all week.

Today we’re talking mistakes. Gym mistakes to be exact.

I’ve been on this fitness journey of mine for the past year and a half, and let me tell you, I’ve made so many mistakes and had so many ah-ha! moments that it’s not even funny at this point.

Supplements Explained

Supplements can take your training to the next level. Check out my current workout supplements!

Abigail, didn’t you already post something about all of the supplements you include in your fitness routine in the past few months? Yes, yes I did, and if I’m being honest, that post was awful. The quality was not something of which I was proud, and I’ve wanted to re-post it since the day I hit publish. So, we’re revisiting the topic, and I’m including some new products I’ve added into my routine. Enjoy!

This post has been one that I’ve wanted to do for a while, but I was very concerned that people wouldn’t want to read it. But is that really the point of this blog — writing things only for the sake of others might want to read? The answer to that is no. I’m here to be my true, authentic self and to talk about things that I love! And today that just happens to be the supplements that I’m taking at the moment.

I feel like when you tell people who aren’t in the fitness industry that you’re taking supplements, their immediate thought is “OMG you’re on steroids.” And honey, no. That is far far far from the truth. Supplements are intended to help fill nutritional gaps and take training to the next level. They’re not miracle substances that will get you a six-pack or make you ripped. But they will help you achieve your fitness goals.

9 Weeks In: Push, Pull, Legs Update

9 Weeks In: Push Pull Legs Update

Okay first off, I have no idea how it’s already been over nine weeks since I started my push/pull/legs routine. How does time fly that fast?? Secondly, I don’t think I’ve ever been more in love with a program in my life.

So after running this split for the past 9 weeks, I thought it was time to really go into detail about the pros and cons of said split and exactly how I choose and structure my workouts. This is going to be a long post so hold on and let’s get into it.

August Recap & Chit Chat

Okay so I know it’s seeming like I’m doing chit chat posts every other week, but I swear this trend isn’t going to continue. This month has just been insane and I want to keep y’all updated on everything! Although I do love chit chat posts, I don’t want them to just become ‘filler’ content for y’all. So, I’m limiting myself to around one a month.

For the future, I’m going to be doing chit chat posts at the end of each month where I’ll be talking about my month and covering my blog stats for said month. I did one of these at the end of July, and y’all loved it so I’m bringing them back every month. I love being transparent with y’all, and these monthly recaps and chit chats are my favorite way to do so!

The Simplicity of Meal Prep

Eating healthy in college doesn't have to be hard. Meal prepping makes it easy, and here's how to do it. | college meal prep

I think there’s a huge misunderstanding when it comes to eating healthy in college. College is supposed to be the time of parties, pizza, alcohol, and junk food 24/7, right? At least that’s how all the movies portray “the best four years of our lives.”

There’s also a huge misunderstanding when it comes to eating healthy on a budget. It can’t possibly be done. “Unhealthy”, processed, pre-packaged foods are *apparently* way cheaper than fresh veggies, chicken, and rice. But, I’m pretty sure that isn’t true.

Taking some time outside of CrossFit to drill down and focus on my weightlifting technique. Snatches and cleans have always been a little intimidating and I’ve been scared to push myself on them for fear of injury. Looking forward to seeing how my lifts progress over the next few months!

Oh, and mental health is doing fantastically, too!

@cattyelizabeth5 and I are back after 3 long months, and we’re so excited to share the first episode of season 5 of Girls Talk! It’s a good one and a pretty great way to spend an hour of your quarantine 💁‍♀️
These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestl These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestly it feels like yesterday. I was 9 months in to my fitness journey, tracked macros like it was my job, and religiously went to the gym 5-6 days a week. Seeing this pop up in my “Memories” was just what I needed today because being stuck at home because of my susceptibility to lung problems and #covid_19 has left me highly unmotivated to workout...
I honestly forgot how productive I am whenever I w I honestly forgot how productive I am whenever I work from a coffee shop ☕️ No pantry full of food, no comfy bed, and no opportunity to take a nap. Working from home is great and all, but it can be so distracting 😂
