Blogiversary Q&A and Site Update

Hi everyone! Welcome to the new Living the Gray Life! Today I have a very special edition post. It’s Saturday, and I don’t normally post on Saturdays, but today is my ONE YEAR BLOGIVERSARY! That’s right, Living the Gray Life is officially a year old. I honestly can’t believe I’ve made it this far. Yesterday’s post was all about what I’ve learned after a year blogging, and today’s post is looking at the new Living the Gray Life and answering reader questions!

blogiversary Q&A and site update

I really wanted to do something special for my one year blogiversary. I wanted to be able to give back to the readers because after all, they’re the ones that got me to where I am now. What better way to give back than answering reader questions! But first, let me show you what’s new on the site.

Lessons from One Year Blogging

Lessons from one year blogging. What. No. One full year? It’s hard to believe that I’ve made it an entire year in the blogging world! I’m one of those people who’ll start a project and then quit three months later because they got bored. I’ll be the first to admit that I started to blog as a temporary thing. I didn’t expect to last six month let alone a year!

Lessons learned after one full year of blogging lessons from one year blogging

I feel like once you get one year down, it’s easy to keep things going. I’ve fully adopted the lifestyle of a blogger, constantly thinking of post ideas and always looking for the perfect Instagram shot. I’m obsessed with my planner, coffee mugs, coffee, hand lettering, and my camera. I think it’s safe to say I’m gonna stick with this whole blogging thing for a good while. 🙂

May Favorites

We’ve made it to the end of another month, and you know what that means! It’s monthly favorites time! As I say every month, this past month has been insanely busy and I can’t believe it’s almost June. Wasn’t Christmas just yesterday? May is by far one of my favorite months. It signifies the end of the school year, the beginning of summer, and happy hour Sonic slushy runs. Alright well let’s stop talking about how fast life is moving and let’s get right into my May favorites!

LIFE UPDATE

As I said before, this month has been crazy. I honestly can’t believe it’s been ONE YEAR since I graduated high school. In some ways it feels like high school was decades ago, but it also feels like it was just last week. At the beginning of the month I finished all of my finals and moved out of my dorm. My Bullet Journal

Guys when I say I’m obsessed with my bullet journal, that’s not even an understatement. In case you have no clue what a bullet journal is, let me give you a little run down. A bullet journal is a journaling system that creates lists and spreads to make you more efficient. Because you’re creating what you need, you’re not wasting pages and spreads in store-bought planners. The original bullet journal was simple and to the point. But, us bloggers and creative people have turned it into an art form, really. So, let’s take a look inside mine!

Ok, so first off. If you follow me on Instagram or Pinterest you may know that I love hand lettering. I’ve posted a couple of pictures on Instagram of work I’ve done. The bullet journal is the ultimate way to work on hand lettering. I create [Read more…] about My Bullet Journal

Makeup for Work

Hello friends! So as you may or may not know, I started an internship last week which means I have to abide by workplace rules. Aside from having to dress up every day, which I love, I get to wear makeup! I’m don’t usually get to wear makeup as often as I’d like, it’s so nice to be able to wear it!

Have work ready makeup everyday with this simple makeup routine.

All in all, I think this look takes about 10ish minutes to do and requires no high end products. I’m a college student and I don’t have money to be spending $50+ on an eye shadow palette (although I would die to have the Naked3 palette by Urban Decay).

Go-To Smoothie

This week has been insane. Usually I don’t write the post the night before, but between 6 AM workouts, rehearsing for a wedding, and starting my new internship, I just haven’t had time to blog. But, I’m determined to stay on my schedule! Today I have my go-to breakfast smoothie that I drink almost every morning. It’s easy to just grab out of the fridge and drink on my way to work. If you like pineapple, mango, and strawberries, you’re going to love this smoothie!

Taking some time outside of CrossFit to drill down and focus on my weightlifting technique. Snatches and cleans have always been a little intimidating and I’ve been scared to push myself on them for fear of injury. Looking forward to seeing how my lifts progress over the next few months!

Oh, and mental health is doing fantastically, too!

@cattyelizabeth5 and I are back after 3 long months, and we’re so excited to share the first episode of season 5 of Girls Talk! It’s a good one and a pretty great way to spend an hour of your quarantine 💁‍♀️
These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestl These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestly it feels like yesterday. I was 9 months in to my fitness journey, tracked macros like it was my job, and religiously went to the gym 5-6 days a week. Seeing this pop up in my “Memories” was just what I needed today because being stuck at home because of my susceptibility to lung problems and #covid_19 has left me highly unmotivated to workout...
