College Note Taking Tips

Struggling in a college class or just looking to improve your note taking? Check out this post for tips & tricks to keep those notes organized and resourceful!

Taking notes is an essential part of any college student’s life. For me, I’m either in class trying to scribble down as much as I can, or I’m back at my dorm rewriting the notes I took during class. I like to have my notes clean, organized, and colorful! I’m much more likely to enjoy taking notes and studying if I find them visually appealing. Want to have killer notes? Take a look at my suggestions below!

Of course we all learn differently, so feel free to adapt my suggestions to your own note taking routine! And don’t forget to grab a copy of my Tips & Tricks for Note Taking Freebie! Print it out, keep it in your notebook, and always have handy tips on how to improve your notes.

Cards for Service

Since being in college, service has become really important to me and the programs that I am a part of. One of requirements for my scholars program is to volunteer and participate in service at some point in the semester. This semester, I wasn’t able to participate in our Service Saturdays(thank you sprained ankle from my spring break trip to Denver), so I now have the opportunity to combine my love of crafting with a service project! In order to fulfill my service requirement, my counselor informed me of a project to create five cards for Cards for Hospitalized Kids.

Cards for Hospitalized Kids is an organization that delivers cards to kids across the nation that are in the hospital. To me, this is a really awesome opportunity for me to combine my love for crafting and creativity to put a smile on someone’s face!

Hello friends! Wow, another month has passed. I honestly still feel like I graduated high school like last week, but umm yeah that was almost a year ago. It’s  crazy how time flies! This month was full of adventures and fun times. Again, just like last month, I’m including a monthly recap which is just below the cover picture. So, let’s get in to my monthly favorites!

Dorm Room Tour: Spring 2016

Hello friends! I am back this week with another dorm room tour. I’ve been putting this off for a while because in case you don’t know, my dorm is usually messy a good 80% of the time so taking these pictures was a struggle. I am really excited for this post because I love reading other people’s posts like this! So, in case you were wondering, here’s what my current college dorm looks like!

Immediately when you walk in to my dorm room, you’re greeted with a view of my side. The bed is positioned in the far back corner with my desk and dresser lined up at the end. I really like this setup because it separates sleeping from homework and food and everything like that. If you’re wondering where the stuff in my room is from, a good 95% of it is from Target. Perfect Nail Polish for Spring

Spring has sprung! Well, here in Columbia, SC, spring came back at the end of February with 70 degree temperatures, chirping birds, and blooming flowers. As I’ve gotten older, I think I appreciate each season more and more, and this year, spring has been my favorite! If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you may know about my slight obsession with nail polish. I love theming my nail polish around the season, and spring is truly my favorite. The pastels, the whites, and the light and bright shades! Check out my spring nail polish must-haves!

For me, I like to splurge on the higher end nail polishes for my fingers. I find that they last so much longer and don’t have the tendency to chip as quick as the cheaper, drugstore alternatives. [Read more…] about Perfect Nail Polish for Spring

Travel Essentials

Hello internet friends! As I was on the plane a week ago coming back from Denver, Colorado, I kept thinking about all of the travel essentials I can’t live without. There’s nothing worse then getting on a long flight or car ride and realizing you forgot your headphones or a book. I always make sure I have the following items whenever I’m traveling somewhere!

Taking some time outside of CrossFit to drill down and focus on my weightlifting technique. Snatches and cleans have always been a little intimidating and I’ve been scared to push myself on them for fear of injury. Looking forward to seeing how my lifts progress over the next few months!

Oh, and mental health is doing fantastically, too!

@cattyelizabeth5 and I are back after 3 long months, and we’re so excited to share the first episode of season 5 of Girls Talk! It’s a good one and a pretty great way to spend an hour of your quarantine 💁‍♀️
These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestl These photos were taken THREE YEARS AGO... honestly it feels like yesterday. I was 9 months in to my fitness journey, tracked macros like it was my job, and religiously went to the gym 5-6 days a week. Seeing this pop up in my “Memories” was just what I needed today because being stuck at home because of my susceptibility to lung problems and #covid_19 has left me highly unmotivated to workout...
